WHAT SHOULD PEOPLE EXPECT WHEN THEY COME TO A HARBOURS SHOW?

Over the years we’ve gotten to meet a lot of the people that listen to our music and every show we’re seeing the same facing popping up
in the crowd so i’d say we’ve accidentally created a real family vibe to our shows. For all of us in the band this is something we want to do, it’s not
a chore and getting up on that stage is something we love to do because it’s so freeing. So within that i feel that at a harbours show we put out
nothing but truth, kindness and good vibes and i really hope that it comes across that way. When speaking in between songs i’m always very open
and honest about what the songs mean and the struggles that go along with having a mental illness and i’m just grateful that we get nothing but kindness
and good vibes right back from everyone in that crowd.

YOU’VE DONE A LOT OF TRAVELLING OVER THE YEAR, ANY PARTICULAR PLACE THAT STANDS OUT TO YOU?

Not really to be honest…..I mean, we have a lot of friends in Sydney so when we play there it’s always fun and we always get to catch up with people
but nowhere feels better than home. Home is my safe space where i have a bed to sleep in, my girlfriend and baby girl and just be comfortable.
Truth be told I was getting pretty home sick on our last tour.

BIGGEST PET PEEVE?

People that have a platform and a voice but choose not to use it to make positive change.
Whether it be social media or not i feel that as a person that has somewhat of a platform where if i
speak there’s people that will listen to me, i feel like it’s my duty to put positivity and hope out into the world.

FAVOURITE PHRASE, MOTTO OR LYRIC?

“No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin or his background or his religion…” Nelson Mandela
As corny and cheesy as it sounds i love this quote.

FAVOURITE HARBOURS LYRIC?

Nothing stays the same.

WHAT WOULD YOUR 14 YEAR OLD SELF SAY ABOUT WHAT YOU’RE DOING RIGHT NOW?

He’d say “you’re a fucking idiot”.

WATERSLIDE, WATERHOLE OR WATERFALL?

Fuck……i don’t know. Waterfalls are damn pretty.

FIRST CD, TAPE OR VINYL?

Music wasn’t really a big part in my life before i started going to local gigs in my home town so it was probably a local
bands demo or EP that i picked up at a show BUT i can remember the first show i ever went to was a Nickleback concert.
It was the height of their fame and they had 9 songs on the radio at the time and it was amazing. No shame haha

IS THERE ANYTHING ABOUT THE MUSIC INDUSTRY THAT STILL SURPRISES YOU?

How polarising it can be. I’ve met a lot of my best friends through music and i’ve met a lot of people that just
want to help you out and work with you because they like the music that you’re making but i’ve also met the polar
opposite. People that only care about money and don’t really care how they get it and will try and use you to their
benefit. I guess this comes back to social media and how there’s no middle ground anymore. Everything is Love or hate
and it’s hard to find any sort of middle ground. In saying all of that, i love what i do and the people i have met and been able
to work and create with because of it.

WHAT’S A MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE THAT’S TAKEN YOUR BREATH AWAY?

The day i came home to my mum who had just OD’d.
I don’t know why but after that day i found an old guitar in a cupboard that a family member had given my brother.
It was cracked and chipped and only had 3 of the 6 strings but ever since that day i just kept playing with it and trying
to put my fingers in places where it it sounded nice. Eventually bought the other 3 strings for it too haha.Music wasn’t really in my life that much before then either so i guess that’s why it’s the most memorable as well.
